Room Fans

Overview

It isn't a surprise that a fans primary purpose is to provide air flow. In fact, proper air flow can offer some of the greatest benefits for your home and health; at an affordable price. For this reason fan manufacturers have designed products that are beneficial for both small and large applications.

Fans can be placed into three primary categories that are commonly used in the industry today:

• Axial Fans - have blades that blow air along the axis of the fan linearly (are among the most common fan type). Consisting of ceiling fans, box fans, floor fans, pedistal fans, and window fans.

• Centrifugal Fans - are built with a central shaft where a set of blades are positioned to blow air out at right angles. Centrifugal fans tend to produce a greater volume of pressure, but they are typically quieter than most axial fans. Inline fans are often centrifugal in design.

• Crossflow Fans - are sometimes known as a "tubular fan". These are used extensively in the HVAC industry (primarily for commercial/industrial applications). The popularity of this fan comes from its compact design, quiet operation, and ability to provide high pressure.
