Decent fan.... Date: August 14, 2010
"This fan is decent, but they used to be better.

I do not understand why, but fan quality has been steadily declining over the past decade. This Air King fan isn't quite as pictured everywhere. It actually has the pointed blades, and IMHO the air flow isn't what it used to be. I have owned over a dozen of these over a period of 10 years. The newer units do not last as long. I use them to move air in my server area, and they get about 1 to 1.5 years on them. Not nearly enough for something that is rated as a commercial product!

Air King, please bring back the quality to your product. Some of us depend on the quality and design of your fans.

really good fan Date: July 26, 2009
"these fans are lasko fans but they are the commercial grade product.lasko makes air king- galaxy-lakewood fans also. air kings are the top of the line in there fan production.they have a comercial grade motor. others have a household rating.they come with a true 20 in fan blade and a full size box.this will give you a better air volume and longivity.the picture shows the wrong fan blades they changed them from the elephant ears to the rabbit ear type.which is suppose to give better air volume.not sure about that.also they are suppose to run more quiet with the newer type blades.these fans should last years to come if you remember to keep it clean.also the fans out now adays have a fuse in the plug so if your fan ever quits working on you check the plug first. it's a simple fix just replace the plug with a new one. one of the leading causes of fan failure is running them in a closed up room. fans need to be able to draw air.so running them in a closed up room will cause the motor to overheat and burn out. so crack open your bedroom window or door.if you have it in a large livingroom dinning room area it should be ok but in small to medium size rooms you need to let it draw in air from somewhere to keep the motor cool.this is true with any fan. i have been very pleased with the air king line. hope you will too."

Should have a 4th setting Date: June 6, 2009
"Customer service was great. Highly recommended. The fan is above average in today's quality (they don't make them like they used to). The quality hints of days gone by, however, the fan is loud on all settings. Not because there is anything wrong with it but because it has a lot of power and uses it. It needs a 4th lower setting, perhaps even a 5th. Normally today's fans have tiny motors in them that the manufacturer maxes out and because of it (& the plastic components) they are very loud, kinda' like putting your car in 2nd gear and going 50 in it. This motor is larger and quality is decent but Med & Low setting are not low enough. I suggest to the manufacturer to put a 4th or 5th gear/setting in it & this way the consumer will will have more choices in how to use it. I have a 1br apt and so i sold this fan to a friend with a large house because it could not be turned down enough for me. It works perfectly for her use tho. I got cheapy to use that doesn't blow so hard. A 4th (and 5th) setting would cover the entire market, from the tiniest apt to the largest house."

Air King Box Fan Date: June 23, 2008
"This is a quiet and powerful fan - better than what you find in the stores. I also bought a stand which elevates the fan and circulates the air more efficiently. You can't find stands in the stores at all."
