Excellent Product - Powerful The Broan Downdraft Vent is compact and powerful with variable speeds. I saved at least $300 by purchasing from Venting Direct. Frankly, I was a bit nervous buying this equipment on the Internet, but I called to verify information, spoke with a very helpful person and then ordered. My contractors spoke Spanish and installation directions came in both English and Spanish. My contractor now wants the website so he can recommend to other customers. I am very pleased with the high quality of the product, color choices, delivery and especially the price. I needed a 30" downdraft vent to fit behiind my new 30" cooktop and this one fit my need perfectly. November 30, 2008

Can this be side-mounted, next to the range?

You can mount the Broan 273003 on the side of the range as long as it is installed vertically.

Do you have a model that is compatable with a slide in range and oven?

The Broan 273003 is compatible with a slide in range and oven as long as you have the proper clearance and ability to install the needed ventilation.

what is the clearance needed to mount behind a slide in range/oven? I can't find it in the specs.

The Broan 273003 is 7" in depth at the greatest point.

How tall does the chimeny extend?

The vent on the Broan 273003 rises up 7 inches above the counter top when activated.

I have a 24 inch counter dept and my existing cook top is by Jennair with a downdraft venting system. can i replace that with Broan downdraft vent. My existing vent blows in the flame.

The Broan 273003 is a decent downdraft setup that should work for your situation, however they are always less effective than standard under the cabinet or wall mounted versions.

Is this a downdraft outside vented hood? Can this unit be use with slide in range?
