WOW for thermostat AND Venting Direct That's all I keep saying to myself is WOW! First, a big WOW for Venting Direct. This is the first purchase I have made with this company. I had found them by comparing prices on this Honeywell VisionPro 8000 thermostat. I placed the order yesterday (Wednesday) in the late afternoon, don't remember the exact time. The thermostat arrived this morning (Thursday) at 10:18 am. And I received an email on EVERY step of the order process up until getting an email saying my order has BEEN DELIVERED. Very nice communication from VD. I'll definitely be ordering other household items from their associated departments as well. Best price anywhere. What can I say about the thermostat other than it does everything I was wanting. I replaced a basic, featureless digital thermostat that was not programmable. The features speak for themselves so there's no need to repeat each and every one. It was a breeze to install. Don't tell anyone but I'm not a 'trained professional'. But after ensuring the power was off to my central unit/heat pump, I made notes of the different colored wires and where they were installed on the old unit, then connected them up to this new one and had the power back on in about 10-15 mins. Programming is VERY easy afterwards. One feature I really like is having the fan come on by itself periodically even if it's not heating or cooling just to help circulate air through the house. I really don't know what else you would want out of a thermostat. I love it! February 5, 2009

What triggers this to go into 1st or 2nd stage cooling?

The Honeywell TH8320U1008 Thermostat works off of a P plus i-control sensor which monitors various conditions in the home to automatically activate second stage cooling. Alternatively, second stage cooling can be activated by manually raising the air conditioning.

Can this thermostat shows system run times?

The Honeywell TH8320U1008 thermostat is fully programmable and can display the current programing schedule.

Can this thermotats programming be password protected. I would like to install in a public location where kids will have access to it.

The Honeywell TH8320U1008 does not have the option for password protected or lock ability.

How do I program this unit?

The Honeywell TH8320U1008 is meant to be programmed to keep temperatures level during programmed cycles. if you would like to manually turn on the heat or cooling it is possible to do that as well. we are required a therostat which having capability of meassure two temperatures(retun duct temperature & room temperature) and the unit should be run with avarage temperature
