What is the Warranty Service comes with an Imperial Range Hood? Imperial range hoods come with a five year parts and labor warranty from the date of original purchase. In Southern California, an Imperial service technician will come to your home to provide service during the warranty period. All service is handled on an appointment basis only, if service is needed, please call (714) 990-9100. Outside of Southern California, a local service dealer will be contracted to handle the warranty and scheduled accordingly. There is no charge for service during the warranty period. A charge may be imposed for parts and labor if warranty conditions are not met.
Where do I get Replacement Parts for my Imperial Range Hood? Contact Imperial at (800) 851-4192 or (714) 990-9100. Be sure to have the Model Number of the Hood (not serial number). For filters, have the exact size of the filter needed.
Custom Hoods • Mfg Methods and Materials
Can Imperial make custom Hoods? Yes, Imperial can make custom hoods within the limitations of the materials and equipment in place. Imperial can customize their own canopy designs and make changes in the width, height or depth on nearly all of their units. Instead of a standard 30” you might need a 31” hood, Imperial can do that. Give us the dimensions and specifications you need and let us help you build you a custom hood.
Can Imperial Hoods be wired for remote controls? Simply indicate on your order that you wish to put a remote switch. This can be done with units that come with Variable controls.
What type of painting system is used on Imperial Range Hoods? All painted hoods use a “Powder Coat” procedure for an even, durable finish.
What grade of steel is used on Imperial Range Hoods? Canopy and sub-components are made with 18, 20 and 22 gauge steel.
What type of weld procedure is used to make Imperial Range Hoods? Imperial Range Hoods are hand welded and in the case of the 304 Stainless Steel, hand polished.

Does Imperial have Remote Roof Blowers? Imperial does not supply Roof Top blower. The most frequent reason for the remote motor is to get the noise out of the kitchen. With a sound level of 4.6 Sones Imperial's hoods are quiet enough that Imperial feels a remote is not needed. Often the consumer does not realize that the greater portion of noise is created by Air Movement, not the motor itself. If there is no noise there is little or no Air Movement (Ventilation).
Can I get Warming Shelves made by Imperial? No, Imperial does not include warming shelves. Imperial has found interfere with air movement and performance.
LightingWhat kind of Lighting? Imperial uses both incandescent and halogen lighting, depending on the particular model. In some models you will find both Recessed & Spot lights. The bulbs that are located behind the filter system will shine through the filter mesh. The Spot lights may be either Incandescent or Halogen. They are not interchangeable.
Do Imperial Range Hoods provide enough Light? Imperial supplies several lighting options to insure there is sufficent lighting for you cooking area.
Do Imperial Range Hoods Have Warming Lights? No, the design of Imperial range hoods prevent the use of warming lights. Imperial strives to give as much intake area as possible. Devoting space to warming lights takes away from the filter area and limits the air intake.
Filters • Cleaning
Does Imperial have Baffled Filters? No, the folks at think that the aluminum mesh filter is a more effective system and far easier to clean. No grease pans to remove and clean as in the Baffled Systems. With a baffle filter system most units will need to be run at High speed at all times to get the air past the solid barrier of the baffle filter. Their commercial use requires maximum venting (High Speed) at all times, but in the home the additional noise is not welcomed.
BBQ'sCan we use an Imperial Hood over an Outdoor Bar-B-Que? No, Imperial does not manufacture a hood intended for use over a Grill. A Grill as an uncontrolled heat source, can produce a tremendous amount of smoke and even with the maximum CFM available you may still end up with smoke in your kitchen. Imperial hoods have been used over indoor grills, but Imperial will not warranty performance when used over a Grill.
Does Imperial recommend Bar-B-Que units for the kitchen? Imperial does not recommend Bar-B-Que units indoors. We all know how much smoke and soot a Bar-B-Que unit can give off, do you really want any part of that in your home? Small units, used for small jobs, can work very well, but don’t expect to throw some steaks on the grill and not have smoke in the house. And then, of course…you have to clean it!
