Featured FaberHistory of Faber1955 - Abramo Galassi founds Faber-Plast and sets up in business, fired with the desire to make his mark and see his business grow. Together with three partners and a worker, he starts to produce household articles in plastic.1958 - Faber's workforce now consists of six workers. Faber-Plast makes it first kitchen hoods. The market responds very well to the new plexiglass hoods. Abramo Galassi has made a shrewd guess. 1963 - A watershed year. Faber makes its first electrically operated extractor for home use. It's inserted in a cooker hood almost immediately, and Italy has its first extractor hood. Faber starts to grow, and it's clear that it's moving in the right direction. 1967-1969 - Faber's range of products is now large enough to start moving into markets abroad as well. Faber now has about 100 workers and things really start to take off. 1972 - Faber becomes a limited company and consolidates its position. Both investors and market are well-disposed towards it. 1973 - Flaminia S.p.A. is founded. This company works alongside Faber, allowing it to handle and confront the markets more effectively. 1975-1978 - Faber decides to diversify its investments by purchasing a large share of Mapla and Nuova Siat. 1980 - The Faber company continues to grow apace. Faber renews its plan and buildings. Production lines are automated thanks to heavy investments in new technology - a thing unprecedented in this sector. 1982 - Flaminia Deutschland, the German subsidiary, is founded. 1987 - Faber sets up a holding company, Finfaber S.p.A., to manage its holdings more efficiently. In the same year ACF srl is founded. This company's brief is to design and install automated systems for the group. The group opens an agency in Great Britain, Flaminia UK. 1990 - This year marks the emergence of FaberUSA, which handles the markets in the United States and Canada. 1991 - A joint venture is set up with MEPAMSA SA, a leading Spanish company in the field of home air treatment technologies. The group now produces dehumidifiers, catalytic heaters, and air conditioning systems. 1992 - The new hyper-automated plant of Sassoferrato is opened and takes its place alongside the two already existing plants of Fabriano and Fossato di Vico. The group acquires Tecnodomus to produce hoods in polyurethane resin. 1993 - A joint venture is set up with Industries Spar San Luis SA in Argentina, a leader in the field of home air filtering systems. 1995-1996 - A stockholding agreement is set up with Imalat ve Ticaret in Istanbul, Turkey: Flaminia Aspirator is founded. Flaminia Ukraine, the group's Ukranian agency, is also set up. The head office is in Kiev. 1996-1997 - The group moves into the Asian markets with the founding of Nanjing Flaminia in Nanking, in the People's Republic of China, and Faber Heatkraft in India. 1998-1999 - The group acquires Roblin SA, the prestigious French kitchen hood manufacturer which produces up-market Pierre Roblin hoods. The headquarters of the company is Fabriano is renovated and widened. This, the original location of the company, is the heart and brains of the group's operations. 2001 - Enlargement of the Faber and Flaminia factories. Brand name leadership is consolidated thanks to the purchase of the Futurum company, with headquarters at Byske, Sweden, - market leader on the Scandinavian market. During the same month, Faber Luchi is created - a manufacturing unit with headquarters at Velichie Luchi, Russia. As a result of these takeovers, Faber now occupies a strategic position for the markets of North and North-East Europe. Faber S.p.A. reaches the total control of Mepamsa Group SL, a Spanish company producing cooker hoods, gas heaters and cigarette and food vendors. Faber S.p.A. and Flaminia S.p.A. are merged together with Finfaber S.p.A. and Tecnodomus Srl into a new company named Faber S.p.A. Featured Faber Models
