Nice Product! Relatively quiet. Smart looking. I like that the baffles can go into the dishwasher. Contractor asked where the product was purchased because he had installed many but very few of this quality - "nice vent hood". March 22, 2011

Is this hood a recirculating or does it have to be vented to the exterior?

The Kobe RA0236SQB is not a recirculating hood, and needs to be vented.

What ceiling height is the RA0236SQB compatible with?

The Kobe RA0236SQB comes with duct cover that is 12" in height. The height of the body of this hood plus the included duct cover is 30" (18" body and 12" duct cover). This range hood should be installed 30 to 36" above the cooktop. Recommended ceiling height depends a bit on your cooktop height and local codes. Most cooktops are about 36" in height. So if you install this hood 36" above a 36" cooktop you are at 96". This would work well in general, with an 8' ceiling without any additional items. When you add this range hood to your cart you will be prompted with an optional duct cover that would accommodate 9 to 10 foot ceilings.

Is the duct cover that is included sufficient for a 9 ft ceiling, or would additional duct cover be required?

The Kobe RA0236SQB will need the RA02DC-24 extension for 9' ceilings.

Do the 12" and 24" duct cover work together to creat 38" of duct cover to ceiling

The Kobe RA0236SQB can use the 24" duct cover as an extension, which will create a 36" cover.
