Very Quiet Fan This Ultra Silent series fan comes with easy to follow instructions and functions as advertised. I was replacing a fan which used a 4" duct instead of the required 6". This complicated the installation but was well worth the effort. We used to avoid turning the old fan on because of the noise (4.0 sones) but the new one is not objectionable. April 19, 2011

is the wall switch required even if your existing fan already has one?

The NuTone QTXEN110 has a recommend switch for construction. However, if you have a pre existing switch that can be wired to the fan, you don't need the recommended one.

Can I get a replacement motor?

The replacement motor for the NuTone QTXEN110 exhaust fan is the NuTone S99080580.

Can it be used through a wall?

The NuTone QTXEN110 could be installed in a wall, if you have the available space, but it is not really designed for it.

will this fan work ok installed in a wall

The NuTone QTXEN110 is not wall mountable.
