Ensure your Cooking Space is Properly Vented
Range Hood Overview
Your range hood should be able to remove excess heat, steam, odors, and smoke from your cooking area. If you're current hood is unable to perform, then it might be time to consider an upgrade. When choosing a range hood you'll need to determine the type that is best suited for your space.
Lastly, any range hood you consider should be at least as wide as the cooking surface it will be installed above (downsizing isn't recommended).
Maintenance tip: Periodically clean your hoods filter. First, remove and soak it in a degreasing solution (until the grease is dissolved). Next, wash it with warm soapy water to remove any traces of the degreaser. Lastly, run it through a normal cycle in your dishwasher.
**Note** If your unit has a charcoal filter, don't wash these. Just replace them when they lose their effectiveness (typically after 4 months).
